Why I am Choosing a Career in UX Design!
My curiosity about mobile UX Design came from a hot yoga class, a fashion show, and a conversation with a UX Designer. The experiences that led me to UX did not happen all at once. Yoga classes taught me the art of patience and the power of a positive mindset. It is the difference between taking a situation that life throws at you as a loss or a learning opportunity; I am choosing to learn. The fashion show made me realize it's my interpretation of a design that makes it unique & inspiration comes from anywhere, anything, and anyone. Last but certainly not least, my friend introduced me to UX and encouraged me to become a UX designer.
Talking to UX designers, what I love most about our conversations is the continuous learning within the field. Not only will I grow as an individual, but I will also be able to make positive changes in the world. One way I can make positive changes will be on mobile devices. We have our phones with us most of the time and have grown emotionally attached to our devices. Whether they are checking their flight information, getting concert tickets, or ordering a pizza, I cannot think of a better way to help individuals achieve their goals than on their mobile devices.
Good UX can make life more exciting and easier to manage. On the other hand, poor UX makes life frustrating and challenging to manage. At first, I believed the goal of UX was primarily about making the app as aesthetically pleasing as possible. I was under the impression the sole purpose of UX was solely about making the apps as aesthetically pleasing as possible. As I go in-depth into UX, I see some of my values projected into the field in inclusivity, empathy, research, creativity, and teamwork. Taking the time to do what is appropriate for the end user means we all benefit, and that is something I am passionate about.
My passion and love for learning have led me to seek more knowledge about UX Design, but my curiosity about UX has kept me going.
A bit about me :)
My name is Rudy German and I am currently living in San Diego, CA. Although the Padres didn't make it to the world series this year, I can't picture living anywhere else. I am an individual who has taken on the commitment to improving and learning each day, whether it is hitting a new personal record at the gym, developing a new mindset with a good book or travel adventure.
